Cover Love (6)

This week's pick is...

Evenfall by Liz Michalski! This cover has got to be one of the most gorgeous ones I have ever laid eyes on. The scene is innocent enough, with what looks to be a girl or young woman sitting on the rocks, looking over at the water. Or at least, it seems innocent at first sight. When you look closer, you see that the texture is somewhat blurred as if this was a painting, and the colors are predominantly green and blue.

There is, in fact, a creepy atmosphere to this cover. The girl's reflection is rather greenish, and we can't see her face, not in the reflection nor her actual self. Close to where she's sitting, the water is bright blue, but a large, dark shadow is creeping across the water towards her. This isn't something you would notice at first, but once you stare at the cover for a while, you start to pick up on all the subtle hints, which were masterfully done. The final creepy blow comes with the tag line: Ghosts don't give up.

What do you think of this cover? Have you ever read this book?

Haven't read the book, but the cover is so gorgeous! Love the lush, rich colours.
