In My Mailbox (33)

I had a small but happy load this week that I'm quite excited about.

FOR REVIEW

The Faerie Ring by Kiki Hamilton. I'm not a huge fan of the cover nor fairy (or faerie, I suppose?) books in general, but I've read so many good reviews and heard so many people say that this book is so different that I'm now eager to give it a try.

Unlike many other paranormals, this book takes place in Victorian London and features pickpocketing orphans, one of whom, Tiki, finds herself caught up in a war with the Fey. And of course, there's a mysterious male thief and a secretive prince. I can't say I'm a big fan of love triangles, but, well, I do like thiefs...

The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa. I was very excited to get an email from the publicist asking me if I wanted to participate in a tour for this book, and of course I immediately said yes. A while ago, I read the first book and really enjoyed it, and for some reason I just never got around to the others. Well, now with this book, I'll have to finally finish up the second and third book and then get started on this one.

I don't like half-faces on covers, but the swirly blue designs are very cool and look even prettier on hard copy then on the picture at the right!

Bunheads by Sophie Flack. I love this cover, and I love ballet stories, so naturally I'm eager for this book. I don't even know why I'm so pulled to ballet books, especially considering that my real-life ballet experience is limited to about three years of hated lessons in early elementary school, but I do.

This one's about a nineteen-year-old girl (yay for 'new adult fiction'!) whose whole life revolves around ballet and is part of the super-prestigious Manhattan Ballet Company. However, she meets a handsome musician who changes her world, and now she has to choose between keeping up her intense ballet-centric lifestyle or opting for the freedom of the real world. This summary really pulls me in!

That's all for me next week. Please leave your link in the comments and I'll check out your IMM :)

Oh, and on another note - I'm considering doing the occasional IMM vlog. I think it would be pretty fun, but I'm not sure it's going to be worth the effort if no one's really interested. So what do you think? Should I give this vlogging thing a try?
