The Odd Parts of Books

So recently I realized I'm in the minority of book readers because apparently not many people actually read sections of books, such as Acknowledgements. I find that whenever I read a book that's particularly good, I don't want it to end so much that I end up reading the acknowledgements just for fun.

Similarly, when I start a book that I've been really anticipating, I read through the initial page that contains the publisher information, the two-line summary, the genres, and other assorted information. I'm not entirely sure what this page is called, nor why I read it, but still, it ends up digested in my brain.

So, what about you? Do you read these sections?

Absolutely. I figure after spending all that time reading the book, I should spend a minute with the acknowledgements. I like seeing the familiar names of other authors, and sometimes they are really funny. It's worth the time.

Oh my goodness, yes! We especially love the Acknowledgments sections, which as Annette said are often funny or warm-fuzzy. :)

I always read those parts! Especially if it is a book I am really excited about or love, I have to soak up everything that is in that book, no matter how insignificant it may appear to others. You can find some good things in those bits. :D
You are not alone. :) x

I hate when there are no acknowledgements!! That's my favorite part. But I think I'm weird, too.
