I never buy books (let's face it - I'm in high school, I'm broke), but I do receive a fair amount of review books. And as much as I absolutely love getting books, they do take up a heck of a lot of space.
A while back, I dedicated a couple spare shelves in the basement to storing them, but now I have simply too many books for even that. I'm at the point where I have to strategically shift books into odd positions in order to slide another one in when I'm done with it.
So what do you do when you reach the point that you have too many books and too little space in the house? Build another shelf? Donate them? Sell them off?

Donate! I've never met a teacher in an urban school who wouldn't be ecstatic to take book donations!!!
I've never thought I had too many books. I just get more shelves and switched to buying more ebooks.
I live in a tiny house and just don't have enough room for all my books (my two kids and all their stuff tend to take up a LOT of space!). I regularly take a box of donations down to the library when I've finished reading them. I'd love to be able to keep them all but I just can't.
I've got a small house and four kids, so I buy very few "real" books - most of my library is digital, either ebooks or audiobooks.
Still, the real books do add up! I try to go through them regularly, and keep only my favorites. The others I donate - schools always need books!
We give some away on our blog, give some to our friends (like book match-making!), and donate the rest.
Nowadays we try to take books out from the library or buy them on Kindle to help save space, too.
I try to only buy books that I really love (since, like you I'm a broke teen. :P) so I never really find myself wanting to get rid of them. But if I do win a book that I don't care for I normally do a giveaway on my blog or maybe I'll give it away to a friend.
I mostly put my books up on Paperback Swap. But when I have a ton of arcs I don't want, I just put them in a big box and host a giveaway on the blog.
If I had the room, I'd keep them all. Sadly my room is not that huge and I already have a tall bookcase, so I usually put them in bins in the garage if I really want to keep them that bad. Or I give them away to reader friends.
Keep up this great blog and keep great information coming for new people like me.
thanks.
